Geraldine Sharpe-Newton is an all-round communications “problem solver”. With 30 years’ experience in PR and journalism, she excels at connecting with audiences. Her special talents help clients to build understanding and get heard. She advises and mentors executives at all levels.
Geraldine’s 30 years’ experience in PR and journalism on both sides of the Atlantic includes being head of communications for ITN, CNN International and at CBS News where she oversaw the handover from Walter Cronkite to Dan Rather. She worked with Burson-Marsteller in New York before handling the US launch of The Economist and being made vice-president at publishers Simon & Schuster.
In London, running ITN’s communications and PR, she worked with Sir Alastair Burnet. She has been communications director at the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and ran press relations for CNN International, the Cartoon Network and Turner Broadcasting where, as senior VP, she was in charge of international public relations for all Turner products outside the Americas.
Geraldine is a longtime president of The Media Society, and specialist business mentor for The Prince’s Trust. She is a Criticaleye associate and former UK chair of the International Women’s Forum. An ace networker, Geraldine is a member of Soho House, Blacks, the Arts Club, and the Groucho. She is working on her first book of short stories.
