David Walter
Writer and trainer
David Walter, broadcaster, writer and Clarity associate, died on 29 March 2012, aged 64. A charming, exceptionally well-read man who had a great sense of fun behind a self-effacing exterior, he was recently much in demand as a trainer, a role that brought his qualities of generosity and thoughtfulness to the fore.
David broadcast from Paris, Westminster and elsewhere for ITN, Channel Four News and the BBC. He presented several Radio Four current affairs programmes as well as editions of Panorama (BBC 1) and Correspondent (BBC 2). Always a keen Liberal, he fought the parliamentary seat of Torridge and West Devon in 2005 and wrote speeches for the last three Lib Dem leaders.
He was a gentleman in all things and a pleasure to work with. A memorial service in his honour will be held at St Bride's, Fleet Street, at 2pm on Wednesday, 27th June.
"We know that you will come up with a piece of writing that is understandable, elegant and expressive."
Andrew Brown, Group Communications Director, Regus
